DURING THE CURRENT PANDEMIC, I AM UTILIZING TELETHERAPY, through a HIPAA COMPLIANT PORTAL. In this way, I will be able to see and hear you, and you will be able to see and hear me.
I have twenty-five years of experience doing psychotherapy. I have been in solo private practice for the past ten years, after working in various inpatient, partial hospitalization, and outpatient settings, including two hospitals (private general and psychiatric) and two university counseling centers. In the past, I taught undergraduate students and supervised the psychotherapy work of nationally selected doctoral interns at the University of Pittsburgh Counseling Center. I have formally trained doctoral level interns on intake and psychological assessment. I served for several years as the Eating Disorder Coordinator at the University of Pittsburgh Counseling Center, working in collaboration with the University Health Service. I hold certifications in EMDR and in Brains potting. I have completed five modules of Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples (EFT) and Levels 1 and 2 of the Gottman Method. I have published and presented (for both CE and non-CE credit) on therapy and various psychological issues to university physicians and nurses, psychology interns, medical residents, school districts, Duquesne University PhD students, Carlow University PsyD students, and fellow colleagues in the US, Sweden, and Canada. I have served as an adjunct faculty member at Duquesne University.
The following are my qualifications: I have a doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Duquesne University, whose program was approved by the American Psychological Association (APA); I completed an APA accredited internship in clinical psychology at St. Francis Medical Center and a post doctoral fellowship at Metropolitan St. Louis Psychiatric Center which is affiliated with Washington University in St. Louis. I am licensed as a psychologist in the state of Pennsylvania. I am a member of the Pennsylvania Psychological Association (PPA) and the American Psychological Association (APA).
